"Fabulous farm, enchanting animals!"

We simply loved camping at Heritage Farm and cannot wait to go back. It is one of the most unique locations we have ever stayed, and there is very little that I cannot rave about. The farm itself is serene and relaxing, off the beaten path with lush green pastures and beautiful historic buildings. It is an animal lover‘s dream since hosts Beth and Tim are expert alpaca breeders and dozens upon dozens of beautiful alpacas reside on the farm. They are so engaging! Don’t miss the opportunity to trek with one and get to know them up close and personal. The group of goats are a total trip, I brought a bag of carrots and we had a great time together. Chickens, cats, dog Juno, it is an animal fest! We brought our dog who was welcomed, he enjoyed every minute, was required to remain on leash which we understood and had no problem with. Every aspect of the property was immaculately cared for and clean. Beth and Tim are understandably very proud of this beautiful farm that they and their family have built over generations. Wonderful hosts, remarkable property, fabulous stay. We highly recommend!

This place is just incredible all the way around. Words and pictures are not enough to grasp the true greatness of Heritage Farms. Tim and Beth are fantastic hosts and even better people. Their wholesome, welcoming, and genuine attributes are infectious. We enjoyed a two night stay in a tent at the RV pines location. The rolling hills of the farm, the animals, greenery, and sunsets that you can’t forget, are a collective treasure. A true representation of the fabric of America. Tim recommended a great place to fish (Spring Hill Campground), which was only about a 10 minute drive. Out of state residents do NOT need a fishing license to fish there. We enjoyed some fresh fish for lunch and then consumed fresh homemade wood fire pizzas cooked by Tim and Beth in their outdoor wood fire oven. Not only were the pizzas delicious, we also enjoyed the company of the other guests. This is an experience for all! Will be back soon with the whole family. Thank you!

Such a fun, unique and relaxing get away!

A friend and I decided we wanted a trip before the chaos of school started. We wanted to take our girls (16, 13, 12, 11) away for something different and fairly secluded so we felt we could safely distance from others. This was the PERFECT spot! The kids were able to go off and do their thing. The kittens in the barn were a favorite. The house we rented had EVERYTHING we needed to make it a great stay, The kitchen was AMAZINGLY stocked with anything you could need for cooking. The grill was a great grill. The whole house was very clean and spacious. Easy to walk anywhere on the farm.

The kittens were so sweet and the chickens, well, the fresh morning eggs were sooooo good. 6 of us may have eaten a dozen eggs each day we were there! And of course, the adorable alpacas. They are so cute and curious. It was so fun eating breakfast on the patio and having them watching you to see what you were up to.

I would recommend this for a girls weekend, family trip...anything where you are looking for a unique experience!

This place is absolutely amazing! Great decorations, attention to details create an incredibly charming atmosphere. Depending on your needs/wants you can either go "all the way Frontier" or take advantage of modern amenities such as full bathrooms, gas fireplace, comfortable beds, etc. There's fireplace inside, a fire pit and pizza oven outside and a gas grill, all available, all ready to go, clean and fully functional. The surrounding farm is lovely and the hosts are extremely pleasant and accomodating. We'll definitely come back... if we're able to book, that place is extremely busy and rightfully so!

There’s a reason this destination keeps winning “Best of” awards. We stayed here for three nights over the 4th of July and had such a relaxing trip. The cabin itself is like “stepping back in time” as everyone says (although the AC on the second floor is appreciated!). It’s very comfy and cozy and we enjoyed reading around the old fireplace at night. The beds are also very comfortable. The outdoor space is where this cabin shines, however. We made full use of the outdoor fridge, huge grill, outdoor sink, and the wood-fired pizza oven. We cooked so many great meals over the weekend  During the day we read in the hammock, wandered around the farm (it’s nice that they let you experience the farm on your own and give you a lot of safety guidance to do so), met the alpacas, hung out with the kittens, walked the path through the forest and creek, and took a day trip to France Park and Monticello. At night we hung out around the fire pit with a bourbon and watched the shooting stars. On the third of July we could see the fireworks all around the farm, particularly from the second floor balcony. There’s also an alpaca feeding experience that was my brother-in-law’s favorite part of the trip. All in all this is a truly amazing getaway only a short drive from Chicago. It really felt like we were on vacation, even if only for a short time.

This place is magical, and Tim and Becky are so kind to share their little piece of heaven with others. This secluded cabin had it all, including a welcome wagon of barn kittens to melt my daughter’s heart; my son actually gave up a D & D date in favor of playing with the new feline friends! The beds were comfy, the lighting atmospheric and the spaces both large and cozy. I imagine everyone who visits will want to come back, as we do. Thank you, Tim & Becky, for saving this little piece of history and buffing it to such a shine.

Our stay at Heritage Farm was simply amazing. The cabin was rustic and comfortable. It was like living in a modern day "Little House on the Prairie". The hosts were gracious and accommodating and welcomed us to help feed the alpacas, collect the chicken eggs, and play with their resident barn cats. It was a nice weekend getaway just roaming the farm and enjoying the great outdoors.

The site was perfect and flat for our tent and our friends in the RV had a perfect spot too. Tim and family were so great to us and accommodating and even made us the most delicious muffins in the morning 😋 we we’re leaving. The store on site was great, we were able to pick up lots of Xmas gifts for family and even picked up a few things for ourselves. The farm animals are soooo cute and definitely an added benefit. Loved seeing the chickens, kittens and most of all the alpacas. Tim was very kind to answer all of our questions and teach us a few things. The amenities (bathrooms) were really nice and clean and stayed that way through our whole trip. We’d love to come back again for sure and would recommend to all hipcampers!!!

Everyone should experience Heritage Farm. My sister and I, along with our two dogs, stayed in the RV spot which is right in front of the cutest little red barn. Perfect picture opportunity! It rained the entire time but the alpaca's didn't seem to mind. We still went to the big feeding barn to help serve them dinner. Most were shy but some ate out of hands. They are very gentle and curious.

Our host was very informative about the animals on the farm and how to take care of them. We were free to roam the entire farm during our stay. All the other guests were very nice and fun to be around.

Such a great place to stay in Indiana with amazing hosts!! Tim and his wife have a great way of making you feel comfortable and welcome. They are very accommodating to needs and seem to have an answer or solution to anything asked!! You really get a sense of what farm life entails here and access to the animals and the grounds make you feel part of the experience rather then just a witness. Make sure to bring a love of animals, they are all around!!!

Loved everything about this farm The alpacas are stunning creatures. Several babies with one born the day before I arrived. Super friendly kittens, chickens and a friendly lab. Shared wine and great conversation with the family that owns this magical place and the other campers. Memorable experience. I will return. Highly recommend.

Definitely check out Adams Mill. Short distance away. Incredible place. Beautiful covered bridge and full of interesting history!

The host and his family were so welcoming and made us feel right at home as soon as we were greeted upon arrival. The grounds are absolutely charming and magical. Everything is a short walking distance, which makes multiple families visiting together perfect. I was pleasantly surprised about the amount of animal interaction offered! My daughter fell in LOVE with the friendly barn kitties. We will most certainly be back!

Excellent hosts and lovely property!
We booked a night at the farm along our route based on a recommendation and we couldn't have been more pleased. The property is beautiful, well-kept, and incredibly charming. Tim and Beth are so very gracious and kind! We were able to walk around the property, play with their rambunctious kittens, and make friends with the adorable alpacas. There are so many treasures tucked away on this beautiful farm and still lots to discover. We will definitely be making a return visit when we have more time to explore!

This place is magic! There's woods to walk in, animals to watch and the landscape is lovely. The hosts Tim and Beth are so sweet and accommodating! They've put a lot of work into their property and it really shows! My husband and I we're not expecting it to be so beautiful and relaxing. It was such a treat and just 1 hour away from Indianapolis make's it the perfect little getaway! The cabin is rich with history and very cozy, but also has electricity/ceiling fans which was a nice bonus! Our favorite was dinner around the fire pit surrounded by twinkle lights watching the colorful sunset. Can't recommend it enough!

"This farm is exactly why God created Hipcamp"

hipcamp_clipped_rev_1.png

This farm is exactly why God created Hipcamp. It is unique, isolated, and beautiful. We stayed in the 1850 cabin which was comfy and warm for our family of 4. It included a balcony for morning peace, a huge deck to play games as a whole family, a fire pit for all things pyrotechnic, and a hammock for deep dives into bliss. The alpacas were more adorable than we expected and playing in the creek cooled us down on a muggy day. Beth and Tim were very laid back about exploring the barn and property, which made us feel right at home. They were fantastic hosts. If we didn’t live so far away, we would come here regularly. It was exactly what we wanted for this vacation.

“We had a really great time at Tim and Beth’s log cabin. We knew it would be a quick weekend trip, but it was the perfect place to disconnect. We are a big family (6), so finding an Airbnb that accommodates us was well worth the drive from Chicagoland. We really enjoyed roasting s’mores by the fire pit (there was wood provided) and playing Uno by candlelight. It was just a really cool experience, and the place has a neat sense of warmth and charm. The cabin itself is full of eclectic century-appropriate decor and there was so much unexpected space upstairs (the ceiling up there is also gorgeous). The whole bedding set up was just really cool, and felt like an authentic cabin experience. Cell service was always good, there were outlets upstairs, and the bathroom was a major plus! And when you open both doors (front and back) in the morning the most amazing, humbling summer breeze runs through the house. We would gladly visit again, they were extremely kind to us! Thank you!”

"...so much to explore and observe!"

hipcamp_clipped_rev_1.png

My young son and I spent 3 restful nights in this historic log cabin.

Leading up to my stay, Tim, who along with his wife, Beth, owns the farm, was very easy to communicate with.

The property was easy to find and upon arrival I was warmly greeted by Tim and shown the cabin. Despite being a log cabin, the high ceilings and numerous, large windows made it very spacious and bright. The second story porch was a great place to unwind and enjoy the views.

I really liked that they kept the cabin true to its style; a gas fireplace quickly warmed the home in the evening and beautiful quilts kept us toasty at night. The bathroom had plenty of hot water and nice towels.

As much as I liked the cabin, most of our time was spent outside. There was plenty to do and enjoy on the farm. The tire swing, creek, chickens, alpacas, friendly dogs and hammock kept us busy; there was so much to explore and observe!
I could barely drag my six year old away from the farm so I appreciated the grill and refrigerator.

I really can't say enough about the hospitality we were shown by Tim and Beth. Their farm is a very peaceful place and I hope to return soon!

"And the STARS! WOW, WOW"

hipcamp_clipped_rev_1.png

My two children (11 and 9) and I stayed at the 1850 log cabin for three wonderful nights in late June. There were many wonderful things about this trip! My girls are both into the Laura-Ingalls-Wilder thing, and staying in a real -- yet real comfortable -- log cabin was a treat. The cabin itself is very comfortable and spacious. I appreciated that the decor was colonial-like, but no worries, there are lovely ceiling fans in the sleeping area, electric lights, and a modern bathroom.

Be aware that cooking is either on a grill or on one burner, outside. If it rains you are out of luck but the village of Burlington came to our rescue when it rained with pizza and ice cream.

Twenty minutes away in Kokomo the Kokomo Aquatic Park is a TON of fun for kids at a SUPER reasonable price.

Back on the farm, make time for the farm chores! In the morning enjoy the quiet. Walk the little stream. We found frogs, a monarch caterpillar, water bugs galore ... and at night, the fireflies! And the STARS! WOWOWOWOWOW!

Wifi does not extend to the cabin. Bring a book and download a movie for the kids beforehand if necessary. We spent one night in the cabin in a howling storm ... but we were comfy in the wooden beds, listening to the rain on the roof (but I was glad I had downloaded a kindle book and a kids movie before leaving home).

The farm and the surrounding area were quiet. I loved the hills, the wind in the trees, watching the alpacas graze in the meadows. It was a lovely time in nature with the benefit of getting to think a bit about how people used to live.

We loved our time at the 1850 Log Cabin getaway and plan to book again. It was truly a wonderful time.

hipcamp_clipped_rev_1.png

This place is truly a dream! We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. Tim coached us through feeding the alpacas and Beth even showed us some of her newly dyed fiber. If you're looking for a beautiful, historic cabin to stay in for a relaxing weekend, Heritage Farms should be #1 on your list. Though relaxing, there is much more to do than just sit in the hammock and read! There are four goats, three dogs, one horse, a pack of barncats (and a kitty!), ~70 alpacas, and a flock of chickens to hang out with. We drove ~2.5 hours here from Chicago and it was worth every minute. We can't wait to plan a trip back!

Heritage Farm is a wonderful, relaxing place to stay. The owners are kind and helpful but also give guests the space they need. The log cabin is rustic yet clean and comfortable (be careful with the stairs). The landscape is gorgeous and visiting with the alpacas provides a unique and educational opportunity for anyone.

"...a magical special place for our family"

hipcamp_clipped_rev_1.png

Heritage Farm is a magical, special place for our family. This is our second year going. Our boys bring butterfly nets and spend hours in the creek catching crawdads and minnows. This time around, they also discovered a turtle and small toads. Tim and Beth are such gracious hosts. They’ve added an air conditioning unit to the second floor of the log cabin which made sleeping much more comfortable. When the coffee pot broke, they generously brought us a carafe if hot coffee and homemade muffins the next morning. Heritage Farm is our family’s chance to reconnect over an evening campfire and frisbee golf. We also enjoy swinging in the hammock and the disc swing, not to mention strolls through the barn to visit the alpacas and the horse. Our time there is becoming a family tradition and we will surely be back again.

"...a peaceful and unique getaway"

hipcamp_clipped_rev_1.png

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Heritage Farms in the beginning of June for a few days. It was a restful retreat, surrounded by the most beautiful farm I had ever seen. We relished the rolling hills, pristine barns, lazy flowing creek, and sunsets. Our children enjoyed partaking in the farm chores by fetching the eggs from the chicken coop, feeding the alpacas and even helping out a bit with the new baler.

We visited Delphi one day to take the canal boat on the last remaining portion of the Wabash/Erie Canal. The Sandwich Shop in Delphi is phenomenal. Everything we ordered was delicious! We took a few short trips into Kokomo and fell in love with the older homes, all kept up neatly.

By far the best part of our stay were our hosts, Tim and Beth. They are both lovely people and took the time to share their passion for this farm with us by involving our children with the chores and bringing by two of their show alpacas for us to pet and learn more about them. I would highly recommend this vacation for anyone wanting a peaceful and unique getaway but close enough to short sight-seeing adventures.

Even in the pouring rain, this was a little piece of heaven for my two city kids. Mr. Tim was warm & welcoming. He answered their endless questions about the animals. The 1850s cabin is exactly what I was expecting - rustic, homey and gave us very much the feel of Little House on the Prairie. My girls were not comfortable with stepping outside (3 steps) to the warm fully modern bathroom -- but I thought the owner did a great job of keeping the cabin authentic/unaltered while providing the comforts of home. We would love to come back in better weather so we could enjoy the fire pit & little zip line. I'm already day-dreaming of a cup of coffee on that 2nd floor balcony. We'll be back!

I am definitely coming back! The log cabin was perfect for me and my son (and next time I will bring my nieces and nephews along, plenty of space for us all). The creek, the fire pit, the outdoor lights, the deck... everything we wanted and more. We spent time with the Alpacas at the barn, swung in both the swings, slack lined and played by the creek, and contemplated the zip line. Next time - we will zip it! ....And we had an easy day trip to the Indiana Children's museum.... Great location. Great vibe. Gracious Hosts.

Our family spent a wonderful weekend at the farm! We stayed in the log cabin - which is incredibly quaint and cozy! We met the animals and did a few farm chores. They have alpacas, goats, chickens, cats/kittens, dogs and a horse. The owners are very warm and welcoming and even offered us an evening tractor-pulled hay ride through their fields. My 7 year old loved the big tree swing and wading through the creek. There is also a little hiking trail on the property. Fire-pit and hammock were also well-used during our stay. This is a wonderful farm stay experience! Thank you, Tim & Beth for sharing your farm.

Amazing! What a unique experience for families or couples. Highly recommend. There are a myriad of activities on the property. Meet the Alpcas and learn about the farm history. Enjoy the open, huge farm area. Zip line, feed the Alpcas, roast S’mores, enjoy cooking on the grill, play in the creek, and anything you can imagine playing on the open field. My kids enjoyed lots of frisbee and resting in the hammock. A real gem for us city living folks.
