About the Event
Nuno means fabric in Japanese. Nuno Felting is the process of making a new type of fabric by combining a loose weave fabric with natural protein fibers, such as wool, alpaca and silk. Wet felting with agitation allows the protein fibers to work through the loose woven fabric and felt onto the back of the fabric creating a new fabric! We are excited to have Beth Cripe teach us how to make beautiful nuno felted scarves.
Beth is a fine artist that has turned fiber artist, focusing on spinning, weaving, dyeing and nuno felting. She will instruct us in creating our own silk scarf using wet felting techniques. This class will have projects designed for beginners & more advanced projects for those who took the previous class. The scarves, fiber, and materials to complete the project will be provided; however, you are welcome to bring some of your own fiber.
